 MEOW!!!!  Where are MY treats?
HalloweenRetroCat-GraphicsFairy

As a collector of black cat items, it stands to reason that Halloween is a favorite holiday of mine.  This one came in on Saturday by way of GraphicsFairy.com.  I ADORE it!

VINTAGE HALLOWEEN

Black Cats 1927This little Halloween party invitation is dated 1927 and came from my grandmother’s childhood scrapbook that was deteriorating.  Knowing how I loved vintage black cat art, advertising, pottery, etc., my Aunt rescued it for me.

Here’s hoping you have a joyful Halloween.  No tricks.  Just treats!

HALLOWEEN HAS COME AND GONE AND SO HAS THE WORLD SERIES

The annual family Halloween supper at my mother’s was a success.  She made the BEST pulled pork sandwiches from a Southern Living magazine recipe.  We scarfed them up so fast, I didn’t manage to get a picture.  Food doesn’t hang around long with this clan.  Thumbs up!

Here’s Snow White helping her Aunt put butterfly wings on Peanut, the Yorkie.

My nephew inspected the bag full of threats from his Meemaw,

then wouldn’t allow me to get a good picture of his face – boys!!!!@!

Trinity took this picture while laying on the floor of me and my hubby.  No that is not my mask, but hopefully the angle is the real reason for the ghastly appearance.

After dinner, we all sat around digesting our sandwiches and talking about stuff.

Unfortunately, the baseball game afterwards was a disappointment to us Texas Rangers fan.  We didn’t win the World Series but are proud of them for making it that far for the first time in Texas Ranger baseball history.  Now it’s five more months before we start on the World Series hunt again.

Until then, we will miss them.

Glory Hallelujah!

The Texas Rangers won tonight!  Now we move on to play the NY Yankees in the American League Championship playoff.  On to the World Series!

“Pumpkins for Sale” is now complete and I’m so happy with the finished product.

Now I want to start on a Christmas wall hanging.  I’ve got a kit I bought from Quakertown Quiltsfor a “Poinsettia Wreaths” 46” square wall hanging featured in the December 2005 McCall’s Quilting Magazine.

It contains both piecing and appliqué, so I’ll have to consider whether I can devote the time needed to get it completed before the Christmas holidays.

I definitely need some handwork for the duration of the Rangers playoffs and hopefully, World Series, games.  It’s gotta be simple, because I am easily excited/distracted during crucial parts of the game.

Go Rangers!
