There were several patterns in this issue that I liked – such as the Dresden plate called “Eating in Bed” found on page 17.
This is a very traditional pattern made with exciting colors and fabrics that are oh so cute. There is even a cute "quilt as you go" iPad Cover. I may have to make this one for my Mom’s new iPad.
Furthermore, there was a profile of improvisational quilter Jacquie Gering who apparently is a huge influence in the modern quilting world. My favorite quilt in this whole issue is one of Jacquie’s called “Outside In.”
Isn’t it just gorgeous – both the design and the quilting. I can see how she became so influential.
There are 12 patterns for all in three different experience levels, plus several pages of fabrics suitable for the “modern” look. I am more into the solid colors and especially like the pillow pattern found on page 45.
Keep this in mind during these Winter months:
“Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing,
The days pass quickly when I am sewing.”
