DIDN’T GET CAUGHT UP

but I sure made a dent in the Just Takes 2 quilt block patterns backlog before the August 1st blocks came up.

53 ship 52 flying geese 49 T wrong color placement 47 unknown
From left to right clockwise:  #53 Sailboat; #52 Flying Geese;
#49 Double T with incorrect color placement; #47 unnamed block

 You will notice that my “Double T” block didn’t turn out that right.  Don’t know why but I placed the black where the background should be and the background where the black should be.  Should look at those directions every time, not just every now and then!  Didn’t notice my mistake until I was sewing the four sections together.  By then I had spent so much time on it that I decided to leave it as is.

Also managed to get a few of my applique blocks pressed onto the Steam-a-Seam 2 then fabric, cut out and ready for ironing onto the background.

I finished up another project that had been hanging around a long time – months and months.  Collages really interest me.  This one I made from an old quilt block, sewing trade card printed onto fabric, rick rack, crochet, buttons and other doo-dads.

That’s one less UFO cluttering up my work area.  However, there are many more around.  Here is how it looks in my sewing room above the ironing board.

The clock is German from the late 19th century but currently not in working order.  It is a decorator piece right now.  The two framed cross stitch pictures on the left side are from my mother and grandmother.

Sewing fills my days, not to mention the living room, bedroom, and closets.  ~Author Unknown

  2. Great post------thanks for sharing your life. I have to admit that sharing clutters up my mind. If I am not sewing, I'm thinking about sewing.
