FOR ANTIQUE QUILT LOVERS AND PAPER PIECERS

Laura over at the Pine Ridge Quilter blog is featuring a different beautiful antique quilt each day in December.  If you love antique quilts or just beautiful quilt designs, be sure to visit her blog.  You won't be sorry that you did.

Speaking of antique quilts, this is a picture of one in my collection that’s the closest to a traditional green and red Christmas motif.

I don’t know it’s age, but the main reason I bought it was because of the crazy little green pinwheel fabric used in the sashing.  That’s a logical reason, isn’t it?
focus on green fabric

There are some shattered fabric in some of the stars and on the entire back of the quilt so I know she’s an “old girl.”  That green pinwheel fabric just made me lose my head and buy it!

Next thing on the Christmas subject, if you would like the little paper-pieced Christmas tree pattern pictured below, visit Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville  to download the pattern.   It finishes 4”X4” and it’s a real cutie.

  6. Hi Donna, Thanks for stopping by and posting to my blog about the "Indian" image quilts I discovered. Two more similar quilts have been found today so I have added more photos! Just google Quilt History Reports to see them.
I have to agree with you, that pinwheel fabric on your Star quilt is wonderful! Cheers! Karen

  7. What an unusual red and green quilt, the sashing print is very quirky, but it works with the star blocks and looks great on the bed!!!
Thanks for sharing and also for the link on antique quilts!
