TA-DA!!!! OR IS IT TAH DAH?????

After a major screw up the first go round involving measuring incorrectly when cutting the blocks into four sections, I finally made a decent Indiana Puzzle block today for my version of Brackman's Civil War Quilt.

I decided to do the machine applique method rather than curved piecing on this one per American Homestead’s blog instructions.  I’ve done curved piecing before and probably would have little problem with it again but I didn’t want to take the chance of having totally stretched out bias edges before I was through stitching.  Of course, after my mess up with the first machine applique block, I probably would have made two of the curved piecing blocks as well without the world ending.

For the last couple of weeks or so, I have been anxiously awaiting the October issue of American Patchwork and Quilting magazine to arrive in the mail box.  I’ve read on some of my Yahoo groups of others receiving theirs.  I wonder -- what is the hold up?  I may need to contact APQ to advise them of the loss/delay so they can ship me another one.  Has anyone in the north central Texas area already received theirs?

Still waiting,
