This is the eighth block of Barbara Brackman's Grandmother’s Choice block of the week, the Rocky Road to Kansas.
Be sure to check out the Flickr page to see photos of the blocks that others are making. The variety is amazing.
The only Morris fabric used this time is in the center square. The others are from my general stash. I have been looking for a way to use this wavy stripe material for some time and now was the time. Hand piecing this one was so easy and relaxing.
Speaking of Barbara Brackman, she recently posted the cover of her book based on the Civil War blocks of the week called CIVIL WAR SAMPLER due in stores sometime in December. You can read more about it by clicking on the title above. It will take you to the C&T Publishing page featuring it.
I am honored to have two blocks featured in the book so I’m really looking forward to seeing them in print!
Sew long for now.
Your Rocky Road is gorgeous! Hand piecing was definitely the way to go!
