SOME NEW FABRIC TOO

In addition to the quilt books I’ve purchased, I’ve done a little fabric shopping.  The Civil War Ladies fabric is specifically for use in some of the Civil War Anniversary Quilt blocks from Rosemary Youngs’ latest book.

Plenty of ways to fussy cut and use the ladies and this other civil war print in my paper pieced Civil War Diary and Civil War Anniversary blocks.

And in an entirely different direction, I bought 5 yards of this Morris & Co Anemone print by Barbara Brackman for Moda.

Don’t let the photo fool you.  The print in this Morris & Co. fabric is large.  The flower heads are approximately 4” in diameter.  I’m thinking about using this fabric in Barbara Brackman’s new block of the week coming this Fall focusing on the history of women’s suffrage.

Your can read more about it HERE on Barbara Brackman's blog.   Looking forward to that one since I enjoyed the Civil War block of the week project so much.

I'm also hankering for a couple of yards of this print from the Morris & Co. group but not having much luck finding this color way.

The search is on so ta-ta for now.

  1. Donna love the William Morris choice for the new BB BOW. I used a variety of Wm M for my Farmers wife quilt and am thrilled with how it turned out. I can;t decide yet on my choice for the Women's suffrage quilt, but i think i want it to be more feminine and ordered than my scrappy civil war was.
