WIND EARTH FIRE WATER QUILTS

This quilt is entered into The Quilting Gallery’s weekly contest entitled Wind, Earth, Fire, Water.  My entry is related to three of the four elements – wind, earth and water.  The name is “Monterrey Memories.”

Monterrey Memories for Jim 2006

I made this quilt in 2006 for my step-son while he was living in Monterrey, California.  He loved the seals and the beautiful ocean there so this fabric was a perfect match for him.  He’s back in Texas but Monterrey Memories are still about.

No, this is not applique.  It is a panel surrounded by water and sea plants fabric.  I did a lot of thread painting and quilting accents to make it special.

If you don’t mind, please visit The Quilting Gallery’s page between Friday May 18 through Sunday May 20  and VOTE for my quilt.  It’s a great site to visit even if you don’t vote.
