MODERN QUILTS ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINE

When Weeks Ringle asked bloggers to review Modern Quilt Studio’s magazine, I quickly volunteered.  She sent me a copy of issue #1.  She and Bill Kerr are currently working on issue #3.

This magazine, which is more like a booklet of 18 pages plus the covers, has no advertising in it at all.  Just two quilt patterns and one wall-hanging applique pattern, each one shown in three different color ways, with lots of hints and notes about tools, fabric, and other quilty stuff.

The photography is excellent.  The paper is high quality.  It is all a really class publication.  If you like the idea of using solid colored fabrics, or transparency quilts, or a more “modern” quilt, you will enjoy this publication.  The contact information for subscribing is on their webpage here.

You also might enjoy reading Week’s blog – Craft Nectar.  She provides tutorials, updates, insights and more related to the modern quilt movement.
