My Texas Rangers baseball team is doing great so far. They have 10 wins and only two loses this season thus far. It’s so much fun when they are winning!
Keep up the good work boys.
Now back to quilt related stuff . . . I’ve been working on my Just Takes Two blocks and I just want to say, Block # 29, Cathedral Window, was not my friend. After much pinning and fussing and pulling of hair, I finally got it done. I estimate that it took me at least 2.5 hours if not more. Calgon take me away!!! This is the second batch of blocks that I’ve done so far. Love the way the basket block turned out. And the Cathedral Window looks pretty darn good once it’s done!
Thank goodness there were all those flying geese and a simple square in a square block in there to give me some relief. I am preparing Block #25 Lemoyne Star for hand piecing while watching the baseball game tomorrow and I’ll do the two sets of checkerboard blocks before tackling another one of the dreaded multi-pieced paper piecing blocks.
Because of the multi-week break from JT2 to make a baby quilt, I had forgotten that the JT2 instructions for half-square triangles contain measurements waaaaaay bigger than I need to make an accurate HST.
Thus, I made the first one on the right that ended up being trimmed down to the size of the one on the left. Hopefully I will remember this next time HSTs come up.
They say your brain ages less if you continue to keep it active by learning new things or working on puzzles. Well, this project should be making my brain about 30 years old by now. It may get to 15 years old before it’s all said and done.
Sew long until next time,
Your JT2 blocks look great, but I have to say that I'm glad that I decided NOT to do this quilt! Someone in blogland is calling it Just Takes Forever - and for me, it would be a UFO by now. I bow down to those of you who are making this quilt!
ReplyDeleteNice to watch your JT2 progress - I can 'live' it through your progress ;-)
