SHORT AND SWEET TODAY -- #21 UNDERGROUND RAILROAD
My version of Barbara Brackman’s Civil War Quilt block of the week #21, the Underground Railroad, is shown above. I had to darken the red fabric used in the corners with “Distress It” so that it wouldn’t be so bright and fussy-cut the 4 squares running diagonally through the block. I recommend that you visit American Homestead’s blog to see some wonderful quilt layouts she created using this block in several different configurations. This makes me want to do a whole quilt using this block because the block is so easy but looks more complicated, but beautiful, laid out.
My red and white Crossroads (or "T") quilt is coming along. I took a picture of the design board showing what I have made thus far but apparently erased it from my digital camera before getting it uploaded. Oh well, I’ll take another photo later and by then I should have more blocks done.
