Roses Are Not Always Red

Pink Rose

Sorry for the poor picture quality, but you can still see that it is a beautiful bloom surviving in the heat of August.   This is one of three blooms currently on the  Souvenir de la Malmaison rose bush in my front flowerbed.  In the spring, it is covered heavily with beautiful round blooms and smells heavenly.  The summertime blooming is less prolific but a welcomed sight whenever it happens.

I purchased this bush and several other rose varieties at the Antique Rose Emporium in Liberty, Texas several years ago.  All have blooms in shades of pink, but the Souvenir de la Malmaison is my favorite.
