IT’S THAT TIME OF THE WEEK AGAIN AND YOUR OPINIONS SOUGHT

My version of this week’s block of the week for Brackman's Civil War Quilt 2011 is  #11 London Square, pictured below:

I’m glad I used the tutorial at American Homestead's blog on pressing the triangles in the center of the block.  My points came out perfect!  Once again, the red was too bright so I used “Distress It” to tone it down a bit with good result.

The “Medallion Quilt” is coming along once the flying geese blocks were squared up and sewn around as the next border.

The Jo’s Club pattern does not call for another row of the cheddar fabric before the dark outer border, but I’m considering it.  What do you think?

With the third row of cheddar?  OR

Without the cheddar, just like the pattern?

Be sure to leave your opinion on the comment section, okay?

We at the Quilting Bear household are anxiously awaiting the first game of the Texas Rangers Baseball.  The Rangers are currently training in Surprise, Arizona.  The opening day game is April Fools Day against the Boston Red Sox.  No tickets for us – it’s the hottest ticket in town now that the Cowboys are at rest – but the television set will be tuned in for sure.  Batter up!

  2. Oh don't we love to throw in a little extra cheddar..... but to my eyes.....the cheddar frames the pin wheels.... so the third cheddar is just left hanging - half a wall on the geese.... BUT what would the third cheddar look like on the outside edge of the blue? framing the whole quilt?

You are going to be VERY glad that you have kept up on the BB CW blocks.... ha, I am now only 10 behind....
