TVQG SHOW 09

The 2009 show by Trinity Valley Quilt Guild of Fort Worth, TX  is now history.  There were over 400 quilts shown, two of which were mine.

I renamed my twin sized Acoma quilt to Southwest Pueblo Treasures because I thought most people would know what an “Acoma” was (it’s a Pueblo Indian tribe who live outside Albuquerque that make beautiful pottery).

You can click on the photos to enlarge them if you like.

I received good remarks from the Judge for my design,  use of color and border fabric,  plus she liked my choice of quilting design.

My second quilt is a wall hanging called Donna’s Baby Rose.

The center medallion is machine appliquéd using a Jo’s Little Women’s Club pattern and Jo Morton Fabrics.  I really love scrappy quilts.

Believe it or not, I got out of the show without purchasing a single thing from the vendors.  Mind you, I was tempted big time, but restrained myself and my credit card!

To see some art quilts shown by another TVQG member, go to Creative Crone from Studio Q.  I’m sure there will be others posted.  I will update as info becomes available.

A big thanks to my friend, Charlotte for coming to town to see the show with me.  It wouldn’t be the same without her.

Now, it’s time to finish some things I’ve started in the past few months to get ready for next year’s show.

  1. Donna...Love your quilts! I am a real fan of SW art, too, so I especially like your Pueblo quilt! It was a great show, wasn't it!
